GREYE Earns Four Josie Music Awards Nominations
Southern Rock Band Recognized in Four Major Categories, Including Album of the Year
DAYTONA BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Southern rock band GREYE has earned four nominations for the 2026 Josie Music Awards, adding another significant milestone to the band's 14-year journey and continued growth within the independent music community.
GREYE is nominated for Southern Rock Album of the Year for its seventh studio album, "VII", as well as Southern Rock Group of the Year. Lead singer Hannah Summer is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in the Southern Rock category. Lead guitarist Jett Wolfe is nominated for Musician of the Year in the Guitar category. The Southern Rock Group of the Year nomination follows the band's 2025 win in the category at the JMA's.
GREYE's manager Karen Wardle said “The Josie nominations this year recognize the band as a whole, two individual members and our latest album, "VII". To have GREYE recognized on so many different categories makes this an especially exciting year for us.”
For lead vocalist Hannah Summer, the recognition is particularly meaningful given the band's journey and its previous experience with the awards.
“When the first nomination came through for Group of the Year, we were completely shocked and honored to be considered again, especially after winning last year,” Summer said. “We have worked for so many years at becoming the best band and the best artists we can be, and for that hard work to be recognized is an inexplicable and complete honor.”
Since forming in 2012, GREYE has built its career on a belief that its music has something lasting to offer.
“When GREYE began our journey fourteen years ago, we always felt that we had something special, something timeless and real,” Summer said. “If you'd told us when we started that one day we'd be standing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry House accepting an award at the most coveted night in independent music, we would never have believed it.”
For Summer, the Josie Music Awards represent the moments and experiences that make years of hard work worthwhile.
“For us, it has never been about the fame or the money,” she said. “It has always been about the amazing moments along the journey where you get to look back and say, ‘We did it,’ and ‘What’s next?’”
GREYE is looking forward to returning to the awards and celebrating alongside fellow independent artists. The band is also continuing to build toward its next chapter, with lead guitarist Jett Wolfe noting that the group has remained active on the road while developing its next studio album.
“This year we have continued to play excellent venues, opening up for great artists such as Colt Ford at the WV Coal Festival,” Wolfe said. “We have also been working on our eighth studio record. We have chipped away at it pretty efficiently. We have plenty of great song ideas and concepts for this next project.”
Summer says returning to the Josie Music Awards will be another opportunity to celebrate the journey with friends, fellow musicians and members of the independent music community.
“Getting together on the night of the show with friends, some old and some new, in one of the most legendary rooms in the world is one of those moments that makes every second of hard work worth it,” Summer said. “We cannot wait to do it again this year.”
