Maui Project Management Co Files Third Patent for Hawaiian Emergency Link Portal (HELP), an Offline Survivor-Signaling Toolbox and Sealed Final-Message Delivery

HAIKU-PAUWELA, HI, UNITED STATES, October 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Maui Project Management Company, Inc. today announced that a third U.S. provisional patent application for the Hawaiian Emergency Link Portal (HELP) has been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which acknowledged it on October 16, 2026 (Hawai i time). The filing was submitted through ʻ the USPTO's Patent Center as Application No. 64/177,753.

The new application covers what HELP can do for survivors when the network is down. It describes an offline survivor-signaling toolbox that helps a person signal for help in Hawai i ʻ without a connection. It also covers sealed final-message delivery, so a message a person prepares ahead of time can be delivered to the people they choose. The application builds on HELP's first two provisional applications, No. 64/169,380 and No. 64/176,357.

HELP is a free disaster-preparedness app that some Maui residents use. It directs nearby users to dial 911. If a person is nonresponsive in a disaster, it can email the responsible agency a "HELP Hazard Alert," which is not a 911 call.

The provisional application sets a dated priority record while development, partner outreach and grant-supported build-out continue. A nonprovisional U.S. application, and any foreign or Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) filings that claim the benefit of this provisional, must be filed by October 16, 2027, or the provisional filing date is lost.
